Fred Jung, of Fullerton, was appointed to the State Mining and Geology Board March 14, 2024. Jung has been Mayor of the City of Fullerton since 2021 and has served as a City Council member there since 2020. He is a Member of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Board of Directors, Chair of the Orange County Power Authority, Vice Chair of the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor Agency Board of Directors, Chair of the Transit Committee for the Orange County Transportation Authority and a Member of the Rivers and Mountains Conservancy Board of Directors. Jung earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California.
