Sacramento, Calif. -- As a result of the recent passing of Senate Bill 1137, which establishes a setback for well permitting and new oil and gas production facilities within a health protection zone of sensitive receptors and strict engineering controls to be implemented by existing operations within the health protection zone, the California Geologic Energy Management (CalGEM) Division is holding a public workshop on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. in the evening.
The virtual public workshop will provide an overview of the requirements established by SB 1137, discuss the plan for implementation of early provisions, and provide the opportunity for public comments.
