PSGM 25-01 Preliminary Subsurface Geologic Model of south-central San Joaquin Basin
Datafile Description
Model files exported from SLB Petrel Subsurface Software as gridded surfaces (Z-Map Plus ASCII, .XML), and triangulated surfaces (GOCAD .TS) representing horizons, zones, and faults. The triangulated surface files store explicit vertex coordinates and triangular mesh connectivity, providing a high-fidelity representation of geological surfaces and structural features for use in geological modeling, simulation, and 3D visualization applications.
Table 1 lists the contents and corresponding names of the files included in the download.
Datafiles are generated from the volume-based Preliminary Subsurface Geologic Model 25-01 of south-central San Joaquin Basin (PSGM 25-01). Input data such as surface geological map units, subsurface correlations, and seismic interpretations were used to construct the static 3D Geologic framework model. Synthetic data such as projected air-geology points, edge/boundary control points, and other artificial control point data were created and used to constrain the geologic unit extents, model-boundary intersections, and horizon-fault intersections. Two geological fault surfaces were imported from the Statewide California Earthquake Center Community Fault Model (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4651667). The PSGM 25-01 model-boundary edges were expanded by 1,000 meters from its actual polygon to support clean-edge extraction.
